1. Overview

Nventory is an offline-first desktop application. The vast majority of your business data — products, sales, customers, inventory — never leaves your machine. This policy explains the limited data we do collect and why.

2. Data We Collect

License activation and checks: when you activate a license, and when the app checks it (once a day, and when you press Refresh in Settings › License), we receive your license key, a machine identifier (a random ID generated on your device), a hardware fingerprint (a one-way hash of device characteristics — not the characteristics themselves), the app version, your operating system and the IP address the request comes from. This is used to enforce seat limits and to detect shared keys and copied installations.

"App is open" signal: while Nventory is running it sends a small signal every 2 minutes with the license key, machine identifier and IP address, so your seats show as online and two copies of the same installation running at once can be detected. It carries no business data.

Integrity check: once a day the app's license-protection component sends the hardware fingerprint (and, with it, your IP address) so tampered copies can be detected.

Free trial: starting and checking a trial sends the machine identifier, hardware fingerprint, app version, operating system and IP address, so each computer gets one trial.

Bug reports: only when you send one — the title and description you write, your license key, machine identifier, plan and operating system.

Contact form: if you contact us via our website, we collect your name, email, message and the language of the page, and we reply by email.

Website statistics: our website keeps its own cookie-free statistics — the page viewed, the referring page, the page language and the IP address — and a log of installer downloads (file and IP address). No third-party analytics service is used.

Referral tracking: If you arrive via a partner referral link, we store a referral code in your browser's localStorage to attribute the purchase correctly.

Multi-till sync: the optional Nventory Server runs on a computer in your shop. Sync traffic stays on your local network, is encrypted, and never reaches us.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

Your sales, transactions, or revenue data.
Your product catalog or inventory.
Your customer or supplier records.
Any business data entered into the desktop application.

4. How We Use Your Data

License key and machine data: to validate and enforce your license.
Contact form data: to respond to your inquiry.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record. When you purchase a license, your payment details are collected and processed exclusively by LemonSqueezy under their own privacy policy. We receive your name, email, and purchased plan to generate and deliver your license key — we never see your card details.

License keys, replies to your messages and other service emails are sent through Brevo (email delivery provider), which receives your name and email address for that purpose.

6. Data Storage & Security

License and activation data is stored in a secured PostgreSQL database. We use RSA-2048 signed tokens for license verification. We apply industry-standard security practices to protect your data.

7. Data Retention

License and activation records — including the IP addresses seen for each seat — are retained for the lifetime of your license to support deactivation, reactivation and abuse detection. Contact form messages (and our replies) and website statistics and download logs are deleted automatically after 12 months. You may request deletion at any time.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Contact us at support@nventory.app and we will respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies

Our website does not use tracking cookies. We use localStorage to store your language preference and referral code. No analytics or advertising cookies are used.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Software or website constitutes acceptance.
