How to Install Nventory
Step-by-step installation guide for Windows and Linux.
1 Step 1 — Download the installer
Go to the Download page and pick the file for your operating system. Windows users: download the .exe installer. Linux users: download the .AppImage (runs anywhere) or the .deb package (for Debian/Ubuntu).
2 Step 2 — Run the installer (Windows)
Double-click the downloaded .exe file. If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning ("Windows protected your PC"), click More info → Run anyway. The installer will guide you through the setup in a few clicks. Nventory will appear in your Start menu and on your desktop.
3 Step 2 — Run the app (Linux AppImage)
Right-click the downloaded .AppImage file → Properties → Permissions → tick "Allow executing as program". Then double-click it to launch. No installation needed — the file is self-contained.
4 Step 2 — Install the .deb package (Debian / Ubuntu)
Open a terminal in the folder where you downloaded the file and run: sudo dpkg -i Nventory-linux.deb. If you see dependency errors, run: sudo apt -f install. The app will appear in your application menu.
5 Step 3 — Launch Nventory
Open Nventory from your Start menu (Windows) or application menu (Linux). On first launch, the app starts a free 14-day trial automatically — no license key needed yet.
6 System requirements
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Linux: any modern distribution (Ubuntu 20.04+, Fedora 36+, Debian 11+). Minimum 4 GB RAM, 8 GB recommended. 500 MB free disk space. No internet connection required to run.
