How Updates Work
Nventory updates automatically in the background — no action needed.
1 Automatic updates
Nventory checks for updates at startup and periodically while running. When an update is available, it downloads in the background without interrupting your work. You'll see a notification at the bottom of the screen when the update is ready.
2 Applying an update
Click the update notification, or go to Settings → About → Check for Updates. Click Install Update. The app will close, apply the update, and reopen automatically. This takes about 10–30 seconds. Your data is never affected by updates.
3 Updating without internet
If your till doesn't have internet access, you can update manually. Download the latest installer from the Download page on any machine with internet, copy it to the till via USB, and run the installer over the existing installation. Your data is preserved.
4 What's included in updates
Updates within your major version (e.g. v1.x) are free and include bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features. If a major version upgrade (e.g. v2.0) is released, existing license holders will receive a discounted upgrade offer.
